there's a small group of men who have stolen all our money, people laugh and joke and they think that it's funny... but not me, it seems to me that there was a day when a man could shine shoes for a living and get paid and have a child or two or three and pay the rent but now a teacher can't afford to buy a home. the priorities of this life can never be obtained , when the pennies that we get are being fucking drained. they dish it... we try it... they sell it... we buy it... 'cuz when the television tells us that it's time to buy a car, we reach for the telephone and give away our heart. working at a job we hate sowe can get that car. wonder why none of us are getting very far? i'm not gonna do that. in this world you never know what you're gonna find, gonna be, gonna own, well do you? one more time look around go to your old high school, i bet it looked a lot better when you went there. full of themselves the people who could give the money to the school, would rather give it to their friends to built another pool. insurance is a scam designed to suck us all dry with the promise of help that will never arrive... and i'm still paying it. 'cuz they'll take away your car for even saying it. now i'm not the one who pulled out the gun, i try to get my point across by saying it. now why did you have to go and be like that? i'm not gonna do that. in this world you never know what you're gonna find, gonna be, gonna own, well do you? watch them walk and hear them talk, oh what's the use in looking up to all the fools that have enough but take from you to buy more stuff that no one needs but people want to stand above to reach the top. oh where's the fun in giving up or growing up or living up to all the rules they set for you, you keeping thin you buying food, or exercise 'cuz we're watching you. they're selling cool in little tubes. sell your soul, buy our stuff, man are we confused. 'cuz really all that matters are the people that you love, things you want to do, why you worried bout that stuff? in this world you never know what you're gonna find, gonna be, gonna own, well do you?
