Rock Around the World

The Lip

Well, here it is folks. After all these years, after all that work, I finally have a platform. Rock Around the World is the stage and the world is the audience. What more can I say or is it what more can I do.

According to sources at the LA Times the price of paper is doubling and the ad revenues are declining. And I'm sure this will be happening to a lot of print media. It's an unfortunate thing because the first thing cut back will be editorial and that's what we buy the paper for. Not ads, the newspapers will be full of ads and no content just like the junk mail that comes to your house and that's what it will be worth. It will become a thing of the past. Your media will be available in digital form and if you want a hard copy you will print it yourself. What this means to us is, a lot less trees will be cut down, and we'll have cleaner air because of it. The industry will be assimilated into the net.

Is this right? Something is wrong with this picture. Here's a company that bills you for a monthly service in advance, with a 3 day payment grace period and charges you a late charge on the money before it even earned because it due by the 4th so on the 5th of the month you're paying an 18% per annum late charge and you've only used 5 days and you're paying a late charge on the remaining 25 days plus the first 5 days.

How about a National Committee To Tear Down Telephone Poles. The N.C.T.T.D.T.P is about what it says. The reasons are many and here are a few good ones. First lets say Beautify America, nevermind the poles how about the wire, cable, phone, electric, tom dick and harry. People should look up and see mother nature and manmade forms but wires hanging off of poles criss crossed all over our lives and generating all kinds of ohms and other things that have to do with our health.

So what do we have here, Beauty and Health well what about vibes think of all the inner city kids. When they go outside the look up and see these old poles with wires criss crossed over their heads with big boxes and all this ugly stuff attached to them. Lets face it, its depressing, where's the love?

We could put a lot of people to work in their own communities, take them off welfare and put them to work in the streets like the rest off us. Its like the WPA that when things got done. All the roads, bridges, tunnels and infrastructure got built. Raise the money with bonds paid for by a tax on the utilities which can't be passed on to the consumers or something like that...

What about this one, the Uniform Credit Act. No wonder everybody credit is screwed up. I'll bet if you pay 15 merchants (phone, electric, mastercard, insurance, etc) a month, I'll bet one of my bottom dollars, that they all have different due dates, late dates, billing cycles, grace periods, and late fees and penalties. We now have to make payments two or more times a month to maintain our credit. One day late on a mastercard could cost you as much as hundreds a month on your home mortgage. Or make you completely ineligible for certain loans. Lets simplify matters and give ourselves a break at the same time. Why not have all bills with the same cycle and the same due dates and the same late dates etc.
