INDIANAPOLIS BRICKYARD 400

Indianapolis, IN: August 3:
If history and tradition play a major role in making a race a big event, the Brickyard is oozing with both, a history dating back to 1909 and a tradition second to none. Racing stock cars was of course new last year, but the history and tradition of Indianapolis made this the largest NASCAR crowd ever to watch a stock car race, by a factor of two. Fans filled every one of the 300,000 seats, and if there had been a million more, they would have filled them as well.

While the event attracts such a large crowd, the city helps create a carnival atmosphere. Visit Union Street Station, the old railroad station is now an evenings entertainment mecca, with a choice of all that is good in food and refreshments. And around the city center there is a myriad of fun to be had in the bars and restaurants.

During the race weekend, we will bring you our usual round of racing specials. Our welcome party with a NASCAR expert will make you the best informed fans in Indianapolis come race day. And on Saturday morning, when thousands of cars are heading for the speedway, the traffic backs up for hours. Enjoy the speed and convenience as you are whisked into the speedway by police escort, in ten minutes flat.
