BRITISH GRAND PRIX & EXTRAVAGANZA

Silverstone, England: July 14th:
Hosted by Phil Hill, America's finest motor sports ambassadors, the British Grand Prix and Extravaganza is a must for race aficionados.

Britain is rich in automotive history, and nowhere is this shown off better than at the National Motor Museum in Beauliew. Last year's visit include the Maritime Museum at Buckler's Hard and the National Motor Museum. After viewing the 150 exhibits, the Museum's founder Lord Montagu, served tea and cake in his garden behind the Palace to our group. What a delightful end to an exciting trip.

Also on the agenda is the Donington Collection of single- seates at the Donington Park race track. This is simply the best racing car museum in the world!

Visiting a top Formula One team at their home factory is always a thrill. Last year it was Benetton and Williams who opened their doors to our group. The visits made you realize why both teams are consistently at the front. The cost of Formula One came into sharp focus when you saw the complexities of each ultramodern facility. The friendly and detailed tour of Benetton was a highlight of an extremely exciting day.

The British Grand Prix is one of the best in Formula One. Silverstone has developed into a magnificant circuit over the years. It has atmosphere and history - as well as corners and curves that really sort out the men from the boys.

On Saturday night is a race celebrity-hosted party before diner. Last year's celebrities included Phil Hill, former Formula One driver and raconteur Perry McCarthy, author and automobile expert Doug Nye and Formula One correspondent Joe Saward. There was not an automobile or race question that could not be answered.

CIRCUIT AND LAST YEAR'S RACE
Home of the first postwar Grand Prix in 1948, Silverstone is full of history and charm. It is wide, fast, flat, and situated two hours (six hours on race day) from London. We stay to the west of the circuit, which, once you get out, is relatively traffic-free.

Johnny Herbert won in an exciting race which saw Hill take out Schumacher. Jean Alesi came second and Couthard third.
